I wanted to write a quick snippet about the Dalton Triple show this past weekend in Dalton, Georgia. As most folks are now aware, we will be hosting 2021 Silver Fox Nationals at the Dalton Triple Show in 2021 in conjunction with NWGCRC. The show is always run very well and is a fantastic show!

Silver Fox had 5 chances to show this past weekend, with a triple on Saturday, then the Meat Lover’s show (commercial breeds only) and our SF Specialty on Sunday. It was a ton of showing and a very long but fabulous weekend!

I am elated to report that we had some HUGE breed wins, including an open show RIS on Saturday and a Meat Lover’s BIS on Sunday! This just goes to show that the breed is finally being recognized and that the stock has improved enough to compete with the other, more popular breeds on the tables.

Results of the spring specialty are as follows:

BOS: RCR Hagira [Int buck] – Joe & Lynette Stercks

In total we had 45 rabbits shown and awarded around $250 in prize money. We had a great time with all our current and new breeders, as usual. The club received lots of comments about how well we all work together and that we are a fun group of folks to be around and show with.

I would also like to extend a big thank-you to all group members who attended our membership meeting at lunch time during the show on Saturday. We were able to discuss and vote on a couple of club issues/ideas. It has been decided that our 2020 Fall Specialty will be held again in Perry, GA, exact date/host club to be announced.

Thanks again to everyone who attended and supported the club! We wouldn’t be half the group we are now without our members!
