Howdy folks! It’s about that time that I posted something regarding our VERY FIRST SPECIALTY SHOW!
Our Fall Specialty will take place Saturday, November 16, at the GA National Fair Grounds in Perry, GA. Our host club is the Decatur RBA and the primary show is the Southeast Classic triple. Karin Humfleet has so graciously offered to be our secretary. Entries are due to Karin the Tuesday before the show by 10:00pm EST. Entry fees are $5/rabbit and $2/fur.
The Southeast Classic is a triple open/triple youth show starting at 8:00am on Saturday 11/16. The entry fees for the triple are $4/rabbit pre-entry and $5/rabbit after the Tuesday 10pm deadline. Silver Fox are sanctioned for Open in the triple show. The show room will be open for drop off from 5-9pm on Friday, 11/15.
Our SF Specialty will begin at the conclusion of the triple show (end of the day). We will have awards for Best of the Best, Best Fur, Best of Breed, and Best Opposite Sex of Breed. Rosettes will be awarded for 1st place each class (blacks/blues/chocolates), Best of Variety and Best Opposite Sex of Variety (blues/chocolates) and best in class (blacks). Ribbons will be awarded for 2nd through 6th place blacks only. Our Specialty will also be a comment card show, instructions will be provided the morning of for pre-filling out your comment cards (if you want them) prior to judging.
We will also be having our very first general membership meeting that day, beginning at 0730am prior to the start of the show. Any members who are showing or in the vicinity of the show are encouraged to attend. A number of members and officers are also planning on grabbing dinner in Perry in the evening after the show on 11/16, and we need a head count prior to 11/1 in order to book a reservation. During the show, we will also be hosting a members & friends potluck, of which we are in need of volunteers to coordinate food and supplies.
In an effort to garner a solid club treasury, we will be hosting a benefit auction. We have begun taking in donations for the auction, and will do so until September 30, 2019. The auction will run from October 1 through October 31, 2019. Items will be available for pickup at the Specialty Show, or arrangements can be made between the donor and buyer. We accept any and all donated items, including but not limited to: any breeds of rabbit or cavies, animal care supplies, goods and services related or unrelated to the rabbit and cavy industry, etc. We also accept monetary donations via PayPal.
